Has Introducing New Foods Has Become Exhausting?
Does this sound familiar...
- Your child instantly rejects new foods without even tasting them, leaving you frustrated and puzzled.
- They refuse to even glance at a new food, making it challenging to introduce any variety into their diet.
- It feels like a rollercoaster ride as one day they "like" a food, only to reject it vehemently the next day.
- No matter what strategies you try, it seems impossible to get them to like new foods, leaving you feeling hopeless and unsure of what to do next.
Here's the thing, parents: It's not only about taking a bite and swallowing the food at dinner. It's about creating a mealtime experience your child actually wants to be a part of and progressively building positive associations with food, even if they didn't take a bite that night. Those small wins add up. Lean in to creating positive mealtime memories and build adventurous eating habits with Camp Food Explorers.

Want to know how? In the Camp Food Explorers, you will...
Choose a Food That Works with Your Child's Body
Every child has a unique sensory system, which means that not all foods will work equally well for everyone. Understanding your child's sensory food preferences is key to introducing new foods successfully. On day 1 I'll guide you in choosing a food that align with your child's body, ensuring a positive and engaging experience.
Introduce it With a Fun Summer-Camp Activity
We know that children learn best through play. We teach them their ABCs through cheerful songs, encourage and writing in sand. So, why should eating be any different? On day 2, we'll show you how to incorporate playful strategies that actually motivate your child and remove the fear often associated with trying unfamiliar foods.
Take the Pressure Off Eating, and Focus on Connecting
Just like in color war at camp, you and your child are a team when it comes to eating. Feeding is a relationship, and when that connection breaks, mealtime battles become more frequent. On day 3, we'll introduce an activity designed to strengthen your mealtime bond and become gradually more comfortable with that food.

Hi! I'm Dr. Sam,
Hi! I’m Sam (or as my client’s know me “Dr. Sam) and this is my rescue
dog Wolfie 🐶.
I’m on a mission to bring the magic back into mealtime by
teaching parents how to help introduce new foods to their child with sensory challenges & SPD - WITHOUT fighting or tears.
I’ve spent the last 9+ years working as an occupational therapist in the
hospital system helping families improve their child’s development and eating. Throughout my time as an occupational therapist I’ve worked with countless families in the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU), pediatric care unit (PICU), and cardiac intensive care unit (CICU), as well as in outpatient clinics.
The more I worked with the children, the more I began to notice that parents weren’t getting the support they needed to feel confident & empowered feeding their child.
I know how frustrating it can be to worry that you’re not doing the right thing for your child. My goal is this challenge is to help you get started on the right foot, and see that fun at the table really can lead to accepting new foods. I can't wait to have some fun with you!
Sincerely,
Dr Sam (and Wolfie 🐶)
